John, why not go with a Pro Charger, water to air intercooler w/ some sort of water injection, cog system,12-14psi for starters. Complete upgraded fuel system on a dish piston 6.0L with good heads and a blower cam, 3500 convertor. I bet you could go low 12s all day with that and have awesome midrange power for the street. Course, it would cost big $$. Remember the Pro Charger on Shane's cobra with the stock intercooler and the cog upgrade? That **** would rock on a truck with cooler intake temps, more boost on a bigger motor. Call Pro-charger and get a race kit built.

Trucks are too heavy for turbos, not enough low speed torque to push the truck, without the truck moving there is not enough "load" on the turbo at low rpms and there would be a BAD lag. Remember the weenie turbos on the 3700lb Syclones? Super chargers are the way to go on a daily ride that you may want to pull the 4 wheelers with or your trailer queen stang!

Lingenfelter built a 422 Twin Turbo Sonoma, and it ran a 10.3 at 136. I am pretty sure that is right, but if not it is very close.

I was looking at superchargers for my truck and the guy I was talking to said Lingenfelter makes a twin turbo kit for our trucks but you have to cut out the finder wells and relocate the a/c and I don't know what else I am sure it is quite expensive too

i believe this question was asked a few weeks back. it was a 99 5.3L twin turbo. it really didn't impress me. for all that money and twin turbos i would have expected more HP/tq.
i think the hp was under 400. i realize that over a 120hp increase is nice but you could do an LS1 swap/cam/header/heads and have a better engine and just as much horse or more. Probably for less money. of course you know this already, just my opinion.

I really was not being a smart *** i just have not heard of one. My buddie is a fabricator and turbo charged a stock 5.0 motor in a 4 door ford fairmont and it went well into the 10's. We were looking and thinking what it would take last night and figured we could make some where around 220hp on a stock block with no problems. All for around 3500, installed...give or take a few 100. I was just going to compare, what we could do verses some one else and money for there set up...??

I'm sure what he had in mind was not for a stock 5.3. That would be a waste of time and money. He is looking for prices and info on kits that will bolt up and then do the tweaking on a real motor.

The only thing I've found is at www.aerocharger.com/silvot.htm

It's a nice looking install on a stock truck, but no price or production date. Maybe they blew it up!

I didn't think you were being a smartass, don't understand that one. i thought you meant somebodys kit, there is company that does it, but i would think you or someone else could build a better one and squeeze more hp out of these engines. i can't remeber the link or site, i'm sure someone will post. that will give you an idea , the system looked nice though,
