An what exactly does the methanol injection do?
Just lower the temp right?

lower the temps so detonation doesn't occur. hopefully later on in my trucks life but not to long. I will get a sts kit run meth. injection and dual switch to run 5lbs of boost up to 10lbs. the meth will only kick on when I go above 7lbs. since i have the lq9 I am limited to how much boost to run.

Boost creep generally occurs when the wastegate on a system is not of sufficient size to release the excess exhaust and maintain your preset boost level.

Methanol does act as a cooling agent but I am using it for the added octane. It is said that 100% methanol is around 116-118 octane so by spraying it into your intake air stream you will drop the IATs and be adding high octane fuel which decreases the load on your fuel system and adds octane. It has it's draw backs but for street cars it is about the only way to run high boost without race gas and still keep respectable timing.
