Question Turbo Emissions

I've search, but can't find what I'm looking for.
Does any-one have a turbo and has had it smoged yet? I plan on get a turbo kit but it has to pass smog. Those of you running front mounted turbos, do you still have some type of cat? Any info or links would help.
Thank you

I have the STS installed, and I just got my CA registration renewal with smog card in the mail. So we'll see wether it passes or not.

When checking just tailpipe emissions, most standard turbo kits with no engine modifications should be fine.

Normally you do an idle test, and if you still have your catalytic converter in,this should be an easy test to pass.

Then you do a RPM rev up/speed up test (depending if the shop has rollers and requires it) test with very little load on the engine and almost always under 3000RPM. If the turbo is not spolled yet, again, it should be no problem.

Have fun. Worst that can happen is that you don't pass and you have to go back.
