Just bought a nitrous kit and i need to get my PCM retuned for it. Will it lose any of it's pep b/c we'll have to retard the timing or will it be just like it was before?? Any info is appreciated, thanx.

I would get the tow/haul button tunes for the nitrous and leave the same tune that it has now in it for regular driving. If you dont then you migh notice a little bit but IMO not very much. Your tune may actually be safe enough for the nitrous I didnt have to get mine retuned before I sprayed.

I am running full NA timing with my wet shot and no problems at all for me, I would go ahead and get yourself some NGK TR6's also for some extra insurance.

With a wet kit you shouldn't have problems. Some use colder spark plugs without platinum tip.

the tow/haul button only effects the transmission nothing with the engine. I would think a tune for nitrous would be more conservative than an all out NA tune with more pe fueling and less timing.

Well i'm only gonna run a 75 shot at the most for right now b/c i don't really want to change out spark plugs and all. So it really don't matter if i get it retuned or not? I want to have as much power as possible w/o the spray, i actually just like purging it through the ram air part of my hood, i'm only gonna spray if i'm at the track or racing someone, which only happens about twice a month on each. So i might spray a total of about 5 times in a month. That and i don't have a LSD yet and i spin like a **** so nitrous really isn't gonna help me much til higher in speed. Only reason i bought it was because it was a killer deal. I bought the stuff in april for another vehicle, paid just under $1000, the guy i sold it to never even used it, purged through a bottle and never refilled the tank. But on another note, how much time you think it'll knock off the 8th if i'm runnin 9.9's before??? Thanx a lot guys.

It will probably drop you 7-8 tenths since on a 100 shot I dropped a second and you have a lighter truck. I would run it on the tune that you have now.

hey man i am running a nelson 93 hot tune and spraying a 75 shot right now with TR55 plugs and have had no problems. i am spraying from 2800-5800 rpms. i am getting a electronic window switch to contol it so it will run by itself. i am upping the shot to atleast 100-125. also i have had no problems with traction with my mods on 22" wheels. i am going to run slicks when i go to 125

must be nice to have traction, that's my biggest problem right now. I can nail it in first, but as soon as i shift to 2nd it starts peggin the rev limiter and i have to feather the gas. The only way i get it to stop spinning is if i let completely out of the gas and then i lose a lot of time, so eaton is definitely my next purchase.

i to thought that it only effected the tranny on tow haul. but it can be programmed with different timing tables as well. it is the performance settings in hptuners that effects when in tow haul.
