Default true dual or go y-pipe?

i understand that several of you all have a true dual. i talked to some techs and they said i would loose horsepower and torque if i went that route. they suggested on getting a y-pipe. anyone have any facts that could help me out with this decision? thanks...

A well designed Y-pipe will have better scavenging and contribute to better average TQ through the powerband. This in turn will yeild greater average HP. Peak numbers and sound are a different story. I plan on supporting well over 450 RWHP and 525+ through a Y-pipe system in my truck. The "true duals" sound sweet but the Dyno doesn't lie when it comes to net HP/TQ changes.

What kind of losses are we talking about, and won't an X-pipe bring some of that back ?
