Hey Neil,
I see you have a 1500HD with a 4L-80E Transmission. Is that a typo or is GM offering both the 4L-65E (the new 4L-60E) and the 4L-80E. I am considering the 1500HD, but I want the 3.06 ratio 1st gear and the new strength of the 4L-65E.

The 1500HD comes with the 6.0/4L80E combo. The 4L80 is by far stronger than the 4L60.
I thought the 4L65E was for FWD cars? <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

vhato,
The 1500HD is built on the 2500 frame & suspension. GM just calls it a "1500" to compete with Ford's Supercrew. The 4L80E is the only tranny choice available on 1500HD's.
As far as I know, the 4L65E is only available on the all-wheel-drive Escalade/Denali/GMC C3.

The FWD version is a 4T60 (or 65) E
T = Transverse
L = Longitudial (Sp?)
