Default Truck did something cool today..

Started it up this morning and immediatly notice the radio/clock was dead. Looked over at the gauge cluster and the only gauges that were working were the oil pressure and water temp. The speedo, tach, trans temp, fuel, amps, PRNDL indicator & odometer were all out of commission. None of this really bothers me, so I start driving home. I'm about halfway home and notice that the water temp is getting pretty high, 240-250 degrees. At this point in time I didn't really care if the truck caught on fire and exploded, so I keep on driving. I got about a mile from the house and in a split second all of the gauges & radio came back on. The temp guage snapped back down to 200 where it always is.

Pretty cool, huh!

Neato! It did the same thing this morning on the way to work, except the gauges never came back on. I guess I'll have a good excuse if I get pulled over for speeding. I hope the instrument cluster is fugged, I'll try to sweet talk the dealer into getting an Escalade cluster.

Well there appears to be one benefit from this problem....I am getting some free mileage out of the deal. I know I have driven about 50 miles since yesterday, but the odometer has only gone up 4 or 5 miles. Maybe I will just leave it this way.

Now there's a good idea! I'll just top off the gas tank every few days so I don't run out of gas. Then I can strap a jambox onto the dash so I will have a radio to listen to.

You must have let a stinky one go in there, cause your truck is giving you the silent treatment Let us know what really was wrong when you find out.

I think it might have something to do with the radio. Seems like when I turn it up loud it cuts out, but it doesn't do it all the time.

The new System of a Down cd really makes my system go down.
