Truck cam for truck manners
This is different from most cam posts because most want to make their heavy old trucks fast. Not me. I want it to just be more fun. Faster, yes. But ballsier. Not car-like.
I was thinking since I have a Camaro for a fun fast car, I would put an LS6 cam in the truck so it would still have "truck manners" and a "truck powerband". Wouldn't that make sense?
Is there a better cam for this purpose?
I DO NOT want a big cam that I have to spin to 6k. I want it to keep the truck powerband just higher numbers without changing the rev range too much. What is a good cam for this?

Yeah that's a good idea. I guess I'm just thinking $150 usually buys the springs, retainers, pushrods, and cam when talking LS6 cam. And it's a good driving cam. Negative overlap so no gasoline smell.
I'll just keep waiting on responses to compare lines of thoughts.

I've heard many opinions on this. I had a 216/220 Comp Cam (XER series, I believe), and it is was a mild cam that allowed the use of the stockp-rods. I had the springs changed to 918s, and believe the guy used the stock retainers too. I don't know where the LS6 stands with this or the 210/218 duration, but they both are pretty mild & requires little tuning for power & idle.
