Default Tri-Ys and Texas?

I'm sorry if this is a beat to death topic! I did search and did not find the answer.

I have a 2007 GMT900 Vmax Crew cab. Current mods are the common ones...

Airaid MIT and K&N
Corsa touring
Autocal with a Black Bear tune

Without even thinking there would be a problem, I ordered a set of Doug Thorley Tri Y headers from Black Bear Performance today. Driving home today, I looked out my window and realized I had to get a State Inspection soon. I live in Fort Worth.

I'm not really worried about visual inspection, but I am worried about passing emissions. Welding is not a problem and I'm willing to lose the Corsa cat back if I had to run duals. I would prefer to keep the current cat back though if any one knows if there is room to run cats in the Y pipe Thorley sends and if this will pass.

Thanks in advance. Love the site

I have Pacesetter longtubes and had to get my truck inspected in El Paso. I used the shortest thunderbolt 3" diameter cats I could find and had them welded in with the flange connecting to the headers. Mine is cammed, stalled, the whole 9 yards. It passed since they just plugged in the scanner and mine wasn't throwing any codes.

Thanks man. As I have been reading I did find a post that said there is room to weld the factory cats into the Y pipe.

Actually, I will most likely do just that. I'm going to do it right in the first place, but I'll get it inspected right before install so I don't have to worry about it for a year.

I'm running LT's and no cats with a good tune, passes Texas inspection no problem. All they do is connect the OBD2 port, and check the wipers/brakes, etc. There is no sniffer test.

If the inspector is really doing his job, it won't pass the visual portion without cats. That's what got me.
