On another note I want to have my transmission rebuilt or possibly replaced with a beefier 4L80E. The truck is lifted 99’Z-71 Ext. Cab that’s scheduled to ride on 38” tires with tall gears come the New Year.
Considering this project may become a mail order approach, who out there is the who of the who on this topic?
Is the TCI street fighter any good?
I know for a fact that I am going to use the Yank 3000 converter and my truck modifications are to include Comps 212 cam and SLP rockers, NA for now but possibly a Procharger by the end of spring.
Please advise…Transmission testimonials?

I plan on going with the FLP tranny when I get the funds to do so. They seem to have a good thing going on. Parish used and abused thier level4 tranny to no end and it held up suprisingly well.
What's with the site if your from Cali? Sorry to be noisy, but that just struck me as kinda odd.

One thing to consider with the 4L80 is that you will have to have PCM mods and under carige work done to the truck for it to be used. The FLP that Parish used would be my choice if I was to buy a complete new one. The TCI tranny is another good one (for the cars) but I have not heard much about them in the trucks. What is the goal for needing such a beefy tranny? How much abuse to plan on putting to it?

Well to answer the first question. I am originally from Bandera Texas. I joined the Military when I was 17 and drove high speed boats (twin BBC engines) for the SBU/SEAL teams for a long time (10 year veteran). After that I decided to start my own business utilizing my experience and training for performance fuel systems. Of course my roots are deep so I decided to call it Texas Performance Carburetors which as may have noticed caused alot of confusion since we are the melting pot of performance here in Southern California.
Now since our California system is corrupt, the EPA is my business partner, and the IRS comes over for dinner once a week we decided to relocate to Kerrville Texas late next year to minimize cost and so I can get back to my roots.
So with that being said I started another division of TPC Racing, TPC Performance Concepts which will umbrella alot of different things such as LS1 tuning and installations, lifted and lowered domestic trucks, and drag car package set-ups. This along with the fuel system business we should be able to offer everyone a complete turn-key shop on what ever you want.
Ok...enough SPAM now..
Back to the transmission. We are setting up our 99 Z-71 with a 10" lift that incorporates 38" tires and tall gears. The motor will be warmer daily driver compared to most LM4/LS1s but it will demand a stronger transmission due to the amount of towing we do. I tow on a normal basis a 24 TAG trailer loaded with a Chevelle and a 600HP 18 foot jetboat. This along with fetching clients cars for jobs I need something that is stronger than this P.O.S tranny GM gave me when I bought it.
I figured something like a Yank 3000 converter and a bullet proof TCI or equvialant will suffice for this type of abuse, if one wants to call it abuse.
Does that paint a better picture?

Wow .. sounds like .. you've been on a ride for a little while.
I always figured the IRS and the EPA are people you want to keep on your good side, feeding them dinner was a good idea!
Maybe a nice cold one too.
Ok .. now .. after that, isn't Kerrville in East TX?
For the tranny, I would consider the FLP one. Talk to Chuck out there, he can hook you up with a tranny you can beat on pretty hard.

Yeah it was a great tour of duty.
Kerrville is up in the Hill Country North of San Antonio.
