Default open exhaust

hey, I got this crazy idea that I would cut off my flowmaster and just run the open exhaust. It's not modified in any way, just all stock, from the manifolds and back. I know its gonna be loud, but I don't care. What kinda power do you guys think it would make over the 2-chamber muff if any?

i think you will lose alot of backpressure, and resulting in a loss of low-end torque.

I don't think you gain anything, you'll probably lose a bit down low. I did this a week after I bought my truck so I really couldn't feel a difference. You will get anoid from the noise after a while, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. I still have that set up on my truck but, now I'm running a 422. You want to talk about loud, holy S*%T! You can hear from a mile away! Literally! If that's your taste go for it, though you may want to try a cut-out first to see if you really like it.

I did something like this at the track last time. I unbolted it at the Y pipe and took everything from there back off the truck. It felt noticably stronger, but I also removed my air filter, and a 150-200 # speaker box. I still didn't hook any better, so I don't have times to say it was better or worse, but it did feel stronger.

Its loud as all hell, I did it just playing around one day. I did lose some low end torque but it felt much stronger up top IMO.

yeah I just cut it off and ran it around. I didn't notice too much loss down low, but I did however notice that it pulled harder up top. Need to get the G-tech times, may report if anyone really cares.

I should add also .. the drive home was almost unbearable with the horrible drown and the exhaust coming out under the passenger seat.

A couple of people that were there at the track commented on how good it sounded though until the TQM kicked in and it sounded like it died mid track.
