YESTERDAY I WAS HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANNY. WAS DRIVING FINE AND SUDDENDLY IT KICKED FROM OD BACK INTO 3 AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I WOULD STOP IT WOULD TAKE OFF IN SECOND GEAR. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS A STANDARD VEHICLE. ANYWAYS I LET THE TRANNY COOL FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND NOW EVERTHING IS WORKING FINE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS IN A TIME SPAN OF 4 MONTHS. EVERYONE TELLS ME I NEED A TRANNY COOLER AND I AS WELL KNOW. MY QUESTION IS ARE THESE HARD TO INSTALL AND HOW EXACTLY DO YOU INSTALL THEM? I JUST WANT TO PROTECT AND SAVE MY TRANNY. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? THANKS GUYS

 

hey man, my truck did the same thing. It shifted from od to third then would stick in third. I did have reverse but no 1st, 2nd or OD. Service engine light came on and predator told me it was shift control module B, electronic. i had extended warranty and they took care of it. total cost was 250. so have autozone or equivelant check the code for you and go from there.

 

I though these trucks came with a cooler from the factory?

 

Some do, some don't...depends on year and if has towing package.
