Default Tranny Temp guage

If I get the 120 mph cluster with the tranny temp guage is it a plug in and go on a 99 z71? Is the wiring there for the tranny temp guage? The people selling it claim it is, but of course they are going to say that.

I bought the Ecalade dark blue gauges for my 02, 120 speedo and trans temp. Plugged it in and all worked fine. No sppedo recalibration either, all in the electronics I guess, the gauges must have something that the computer recognizes and sets to?

Yeah, it's in there. Just plug and play. Although, I have read some things about installing into a '99: something about one of the lights staying on - I think the airbag light. Do a search and you can find lots of talk about this.

I heard that the 99's are the only ones that a 00-03 cluster WON'T work in. I have a 99 also and when I talked to Stylin Concepts, they said it(01 escalade cluster) wouldn't work.

99-02 are the same, 03-up are different. The sending unit and everything is already in the truck. Just unplug your old cluster and plug in the new one. As for the 99's having a problem with keeping a light lit, I've never heard that before. I have a early 2000 truck and I had no problems installing my Escalade cluster.

How would I know short of pulling the clusters and comparing them? Maybe someone who has done it on a 99 will chime in.

The tram temp will work. You will have to take care of your mileage problem, though.

budhayes3 has a 99 that he put a denali cluster in.
