Just so I'm not hijacking ... I'd still stick with the FLP tranny.

The truck will be FI someday...I'm not sure when, but I know it will be well before I would want to mess with the tranny again--probably early next year. I'm looking into either a large single or smaller twins.
Shorter term goals are 100-150 shot and maybe some low 12s. My overall goal is to bury the Escalade speedo in the 1/4.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far! One question...isn't the GMPP tranny about the same price as the built 4L65E from FLP?

What kind of HP can the GMPP tranny hold up to? cuz if it will blow at like 500 hp, then yea you will get a new tranny every month for the next three years, but what happens after the warranty is out? buy another one?? seems that isnt very cost effective, 2 grand every three years on the trans?

OK, FLP isn't rated "way" over anything. Its still a 4L60, just like the 65E is a 4L60. It can only hold up to so much no matter what you do. The FLP isn't bulletproof. Take a look at the internal modifications they list on their site. If you take a 65E, install a transgo, reinforced drum, upgraded sunshell, and a few little misc parts, you'd have the same thing. They just add a transgo vacuum modulated conversion to it. You do the math - FLP Lev V for $2695 + $600 core= $3295. GMPP $2000. So basically $1295 cheaper and you get a much longer warranty. Use a bit of the savings and install a transgo and you'll be OK.
If you have enough power to break a 4L65 once a month, I guarantee you'll go through your share of FLP transmissions too. But you'll be buying a new FLP every 90 days instead of 3 years with the warranty.
The #2 guy on the truck list has a 65E with shift kit and is running 11.8s at well over 5000 pounds. Will it eventually fail, probably, but its taking his LQ9 sprayed / blown power so far.

I'm currently running a stock-head LS1 w/ a TR 224 cam. I'm guessing I'm in the 325rwhp range--I went 13.9 @ 101 on a 2.4 60'. Adding a 150 shot will probably put me into the 450-500rwhp range, with at least that many lb-ft in torque.
Will the 4L65E handle that, or should I go with an '80 conversion?
