whats going on when you hit the gas and you feel things turning but have no motion for about 1/2 sec to 1 sec?

Could that be torque management, or does it feel like something's wrong?

not torque management, this is from a stop, applying regular gas pedal pressure.

It doesn't feel right to me, feels like something has to catch up with the engine, before the truck gets moving.

Have you checked the fluid?! Sounds like a tranny on it's way out...mine's doing the same thing, and the fluid is BROWN. But I've put about 6k miles on it like this, and I'm not really worried about it since I have the stuff for the 80 swap.

Do you do a lot of towing? Ever changed the fluid? Might just be low on fluid. Maybe a bad converter!?

never changed the fluid. only 20K, was going to get it done next service.
never towed a thing, just my fat ***!
