Default Tranny cooler

So when I install my B&M cooler do I use the black zippy tie like things to mount the cooler right onto the Radiator? I was not real sure about that because it came with little mounting plates also. The thing about this is that it didnt come with any instructions and I have never installed one before. Also is the 4ft hose long enough for both line if I mount it in front of the Radiator? I posted in the Drivetrain also to get quickest answers. thanx.

I wouldn't use those zip-tie things, they can harden up and break, or even worse wear through the radiator. There are cross-bars in front of the ac condenser that the cooler will mount to, I've seen alot of the guys using the B&M one mount it there, and run the hoses down. I'll show you a pic of mine...it's not a B&M, but it's mounted in the same manner except the hoses come out of the side. (Permacool 17,000 gvw)

Any of you have directions, a link, or a how-to on how to plumb a cooler into your existing system?

Or at least more pictures of the install from the other side of the radiator?

I can give you a quick run-down of how I did mine:

1. Remove K&N FIPK out of the way (or Volant, or modified stock air box, etc.)
2. Unbolt upper trans cooler line to radiator...removed clip and nut on hard line, the nut will slide right off with clip removed (put nut/clip in extra bolt draw of tool box...you never know).
3. Screw brass nipple (with some teflon on threads) into radiator (sorry I don't remember thread size and pitch).
4. Mount trans cooler to cross-bars
5. Run one hose from cooler to cooler line (tighten clamps)
6. Run other hose from cooler to brass nipple in radiator (tighten clamps)
7. Re-install air box
8. Start truck and check fluid level
9. After test drive and all is well, enjoy cold beer (I like Bud myself )
