Re: tranny ??? 4l80e
I might be able to try it out pritty soon. My truck is just sitting in my shop right now with a blown tranny. 4l80E is my next step if i can gather enough money. It is hard to find extra money when starting a new business. So it might take a while. Hopefully not.

Re: tranny ??? 4l80e
Yes their is a yank 2600 and 3200 converters for the 4L80e. The only downside to this heavy duty trans is its a hydramatic 400 with an overdrive gear, so its first gear is 2.48 unlike the 4L60e with a 2.75(or so?) 1st gear. But I have felt no ill affect of it infact my 60foot time corelates to a faster ET.

You can use the taller 1st and 2nd gear to your advantage by adding a lower final drive ratio with the shorter 4th it's like having a close ratio gear box. Most Turbo 400 performance parts will work to including a low gear planetary gear set with a 2.75 first gear.Best of all the L480e can stand up to a WOT 4th gear shift.
