This thing might just have the potental to be be a perfect sleeper.. 5.3 (bore & stroke it out to 422-427), it has the 4l80e for a tranny. So if the rear is bigger than a 7.5, then it would only require engine upgrades, because that tranny will handle anything you can throw at it. If they put this together right, then we would not have to upgrade the rear & tranny, just the motor. Who's gonna be the first to head & cam one of these? If the weight is right, & you could hook, 10 sec baby!!

There is lots of talk about using a Torsen axle, so I figure they will just use 7.5".

Screw the SSR!

Heres what the rear end looks like. Don't know the dimensions though.

It's already slated to have the 5.3, that is an LS1. It has already been quoted that it will have a 4l80e. Maybe things have changed, but this is what had already been quoted.

Motor Trend said it would have a 6.0 too. What happened there?

Sorry to be so negative, but GM will not go out of their way to overkill this vehicle that will only sell 10-15,000 units.

Any potential that GM had with this truck is pretty much out the window due to their ingenious decisions, so I'll put my money on the 8.5" 10-bolt AT BEST! It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they shoved the weak-nut 7.5" unit in there, though. If they're going to puss it out, they might as well go all out.
