Default trailblazer question

a guy at work has a 2000 or nwere trailblazer with the I-6 in it. the check engine light came on, scanned it and said the coolant temperature sensor was bad so he changed it but it is still doing the same thing with the same code. we are going to ohm both sensors, hot and cold, tomorrow to see if they are reading differently. has anyone else had this problem or heard of this? anything we should look at tomorrow? thanks
