Default traction bars

friend of mine put some on his s-10 and had nothing but praise about them. me being a little sceptical, say it's nothing more than a placebo. but then, it's not my truck and don't know what traction was like before the modification. so now i'm here looking for an answer...do traction bars really live up to their name?

mine and my friends helped a lot. and they were only 40 bux from autozone. while they probably aren't the best traction bars made they suit me fine for now. the truck hooks a lot better with them that without them. i'm still on stock tires which is most of my problem. he has 285/60/16 goodyear eagle GT2s and all he gets is a little chirp from a dig. so i guess IMO they live up to their name.

I have yet to realize the "full" benefit of the CalTracs as I have not had the track time to spend tuning them (I have done plenty on the street but the settings don't translate to sticky tires.) While I have not seen their full benefit I have definately reeped the benefits of non-existant wheel hop <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

well you'll have to go to the local hardware store and buy longer brackets, no biggie they should be cheap.

they are universal fit and they took about 20 min. to put on in the driveway.

I saw in a truck mag that Lakewood is making some bars that fit our truck alot better without having to buy longer brackets. They would prob be better than what Crazyidiot and I have. You may wanna check the website.

This is the only way I know of to see all of Lakewoods products. http://www.mrgasket.com/ They have a PDF online catalog in there somewhere for Lakewood.
