The TR224 is a custom grind cam made by Thunder Racing. I got my TR220 for about $600 with springs and pushrods off thier website.

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA 1700-6600 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning on automatic transmission cars.

Maybe 30-35 rwhp increase. But you'll really want at least a 3000 stall torque converter to go with it. If not, you'll gain top end pull but have slower starts. You will lose some low end grunt.

Yep...the low end will hurt alittle, but the mid-range/high end will pic up dramatically. My best 60ft was a 1.78, so maybe you won't lose "that" much low end, but like BigTex said, a 3000 stall converter will be a must. This is a really fun cam to play with people on the highway with. You downshift, and it's going "somewhere"...Really fast!

How do you like the 220? Did you feel like you should have just gotten the 224?

I haven't installed the TR220 yet. Its been sitting on my shelf since October. My plans for my truck have changed. Im going to buy a Procharger here in March and then go from there. As far as it goes for horsepower here the dyno graph of a 2002 with 5.3

Baseline (Before Camshaft) Dyno Modifications:
K&N FIPK, Thorley Headers, custom y-pipe with no cats, 3" exhaust with cutout, 3.73 gears, electric fans, Diablo programmer.

After Camshaft:
TR 220/220 .551/.551 112 camshaft, ASP pulley, Yank 3000 converter, Thunder Racing custom tuning.
