Default TR 220 112 rocks

Got this installed on friday, gave it a few wot's on the highway this morning, and wow. i wish i would have gone bigger now.. lol..

This thing compared to the 216-220 114 is a bit different down low, the 216 220 had great throttle response, overall drivability, and would just roast my tries off the line, the 220 does feel a little funny down low, when i first drove it, i was like, oh my, this is not good, but i really forgot about it all when i gave it that first wot blast. ANd now 3 days later, the low end is fine by me, i guess i got use to it. I still need to see how it does off the line, i guess this thursday will really tell at the track.. Sometime this month a 3k stall with go in to see how they get along.

Idle is a little bit lopier than the 216, and i was able to get it to run just right so i have no idling issues.

So anyone thinking about getting this cam, go for it, i'd do it all over again vs the small comp line up cams.

Awesome..... Looks like we have to line them up again to see how much of a difference your TR 220 made.

I just bought this cam from Thunder Racing, they did say you would lose some lowend but I am just going to get a stall to make up for that. Also what gears do you have in your truck rgvsierra? I have 3.42 with posi, and i know the lowend is going to be terrible. I have been told by more than one person either keep the 3.42 or go with 4.11 with a stall? I will probley just keep the 3.42 and go with a big stall, becasue I love the downshift points and it pulls fairly hard at 70+ mph

Sweet! I'm SO glad you like it.

I feel a little better knowing the low end was a little funny there - it's not just me.

Take that truck to the track and youll see the need for at least 4.10s. I have 3.73s and a 3000 verter and can only manage a 1.87 60ft. a 4.10 swap is in the works for me this week. I think 3.42s would rock up top but it all depends on where you want the power at. I love to street race, but im close to 2 tracks so the better track times are what i want.

Damn, I would race you anytime! But just for the fun of it. I have a RCSB 5.3, with a ASP pulley, KN FPIK, Borla exhaust. Oh I got a old guy in a lightning with 380 rwhp that is in his mid life crisis that thinks hes a badass in his L because its got a chip and pulley. He is only pulling 8.2-8.4 in the 1/8th. looks like I am going to mess with him first my buddy also want to hook up some spray to help out as well.

In the works TR220, TR pushrods, 918's, LS6 ported oil pump, JWIS timing chain, Dynatech or Thorley headers cant decided, Nelson tune and a vigilante 3000 or 3200 stall. If I am going to rock the 3.42 I might go a 3200.

And maybe a 150 shot NOS

Does your truck rock from side to side when it idles?

glad to see you like the new cam i was thinking about going with the 216-220 cam but i now might upgrade to they one you got. i have the mods in my sig plus a nelsons tune, and a trailblazer stall (2500), does anyone know how i would perform? i will probably do a search on it.

Just ordered my TR220 today. Looks like this cam is taking off in popularity in the 5.3's

where are you from?

it shakes a little from side to side, nothing drastic though.
