Everyone hear that makes any sort of power has come about our friend (the little ****** that he is) Tqm. I have an idea, but i doint know if its work. There must be a sensor somewhere on the truck that detects TQM. What if we found that sensor and added a Resitor to it. Wouldn't that then trick the TCM and ECM into thinking less power is goin into the trans. Its really pissing me off and it needs to be done awy with. Im going to call my friend that workd for GM and see if he can help me out. Any ideas?

I definitely want to get my torque management fixed also. I hate it with a passion. It has became 10x more noticeable after my torque converter and shift kit install. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Unfortunatley TQM is much more encompassing and really too integrated the electronics of the system to allow for such a "quick-fix." (how I wish this was not so.)
There are over 7 relivant tables and values which the PCM references for TQM intervention. The computer uses TPS, VSS, MAF & RPM values and derives load, calculated torque, and many other figures. These numeric values are compared to the tables and different levels of intervention are made. It could be as little as delayed shift solenoid activation to as severe as droping as many as half the cylinders by modulating injector PW (i.e.fuel cut-this mode is entered when calculated torque exceeds the listed value-otherwise known as "abuse mode.")
I wish there were other options but PCM custom tune is the only viable solution at this time.
HYDE:
TQM is usually a problem for those equiped with shift kits (2+ washer firmness) and especially those with a 2500+ converter. Producing 300 RWHP+ N/A in a truck with a shift kit and/or converter will usually bring forth this phenonmenon. I have battled through it for some time and have been able to minimise its effects at WOT but PTO is just as bad as ever.
I don't know how much PCM monitoring or testing you have done but when TQM is in effect it is capable of pulling timing down to -10 and shuting down fuel to half the cylinders. Being a nitrous user you can see my concern with loosing fuel for up to 1.5 sec at WOT...nothing good can happen here. Being yu have such a large variance in power from N/A to N2O I don't suspect you have encountered this obstacle yet unless you have had a wideband on while observing shifts at WOT on a dyno and seen how lean it runs between gears.
I have more details regarding TQM if you have any more questions but thers is also an abundacle of info in the electronics and custom tuning section of the board.

If someone where to do a 6 speed conversion, would the PCM detect the RPM's at which you were shifting? Or, is TM only in automatics? I don't know if a standard is even an option with a 5.3, but if a 6 speed would be fun.
