Default Torsion bars?

Anybody know if I can put torsion bars off of a LD2500 on my Z71? How much will it lift the frontend at normal adjustment of the bars? Will they fit in my lower a-arms?

I really don't think they would fit, they might, you might as well just crank your torsion bars up.

Yes they will fit and raise it maybe 1/2 to 1 inch. Check out this page for all info on torsion bars. http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/s...threadid=65871

Reason I am asking is because there is a guy selling a set on Ebay claiming he had them on his Z71 and I am wanting to lift my truck a little. My other option is torsion bar keyways, but I figure if the 2500 bars will go on , why not get the extra load capacity.

I heard 2500 bars in a 1500 will actually DROP the truck? Something about them being keyed differently?

I show the bars the same for 1500 2500 3500. The differance is the load weight. It ranges from 4553# to 9054#. Check your vin for the code. The code will be like 7GG 6GG, 6XG 7XG.

Thats if you swap the keys, the bars will raise it some.

I think you get "green keys" that raise your truck about 2 inches. I believe they are the same ones off of an f150 and they fit for some reason. I'm sure if you go to an alignment shop that deals with a lot of lifted trucks they could help you out.

The "green keys" are stock on 1500s, the are used to lift a HD. you use the ford keys to lift a 1500.
