Torque Management for Whipples
#1
I'm very curious what people think are the real risks of removing torque management on a supercharged 5.3 with stock drivetrain.

The risk of removing torque management on any vehicle that is driven hard is premature transmission failure. Torque management is there to protect the transmission from abuse during shifts.
That box is too expensive and too late to the market. For the same price, you could have LS1 Edit and make 100 times more changes to your vehicle.

This is somthing they have been working on for 6 months or more with street performance and electronics.I believe they started developing it when they realized the 2002 trucks were not performing as should with their set up.Instead of including it in the kit they sell it separate for way too much money
I'm currently having a custom Predator made for me at runninwiththedevil. They have done several whipple trucks with good success. It will cost a good bit less than the whipple tuner and it does a whole lot more.I'm hoping to get it in the next week or 2. I'l let you guys know how it turns out.

sure tqm will reduce the life of the transmission, but, how long has it been around anyway? it wasn't used in old vehicles and they survived just fine. just something to give gm bragging rights to less breakdowns.
that programmer is !! nothing but a glorified HPP3 if even that. get EDIT and save yourself a little money in the process.

TExas Sherminator - your a brick. I have dyno results proving that the diablo is not crap. Over 24rwhp saying it isnt crap. I would say that was well worth the $375 I spent on it. They are making down loads you can add it once the finish getting the different tuners finished. Maybe you should start pulling your head out from between your legs before you pop off your mouth BOY.

I don't see anything on that page that says anything about a tuning program. If that is the case, $650 to remove TQM, and adjust for tire/gear changes is a ripoff. I don't even think you can adjust your shift points.

I like the features and simplicity of the Predator.I know it doesn't give you all the adjustments that edit does, but for the money you can't beat it.
Everyone says just buy edit,it's cheaper.Well, not for me,i don't have a laptop and for edit to be real useful you need atap as well.So...550 for edit,300 for atap and approx 400 for a decent "used" laptop your looking at 1250.00 bucks. The Predator with a custom tune will cost me less than half of that.
Edit is a must for some setups, but for alot of people I think the Predator will fit the bill.
