Well I talked to my uncle tonight and we're going to do some pressure tests to see if the problem isn't the PC solenoid first. Otherwise, if it's an internal problem which we both think it is, it will get rebuilt and done the right way.

Yup, sounds like 2nd to 3rd is going, once mine started to go it didnt last a week, then 1st-2nd went. Get a beefy rebuild have either Level 10, or FLP do it. They both do great work.
And BTW, When it rains it pours.

Thing is is that I think it has been acting up for a long time and I just didn't notice it as much until after the shift kit was installed. For the past year or so I noticed than whenever I was at WOT runs the 2-3 felt like it was just sliding in, almost like feathering a clutch. My uncle will most likely be doing the rebuild if it comes down to it.

Is this problem at WOT? My truck shifts fine at WOT, but sometimes at part throttle, the engine revs between the 2-3 shift. Is this the problem that you guys are talking about?

For me it happens at WOT and at moderate part throttle or causing the transmission to kick down to 2nd from 3rd then shifting back up into 3rd.

For those that plan on putting some serious hp to a 4L60 or 4L60E, Brian Hartman is the man to see for high performance parts. He has designed custom parts for these trannies after a tremendous amount of testing and $$$. I went through 3 in short order before getting his Stage IV kit. Now it handles 600 hp with no problem.

Since you are probably going to get a re-build soon..I would suggest putting in a converter...that is if you have the money for it. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Well here is a little update on my tranny situation. I went to my uncle's house today and ran some tests with the Tech 2 scanner and also did some pressure tests. It seems as though my PC solenoid is shot and most likely has been for awhile. We're just hoping it didn't do too much damage inside due to the slipping. If so, at least I'll be able to use the rest of the Transgo kit.

On a side note, we checked the rest of the truck with the Tech 2 and it's showing that both rear O2 sensors aren't operating properly either. On the plus side we didn't find any trouble codes stored by the truck.

i'm there with y'all. mine slips all the time now. guess they just aren't made for n2o and such. last night when i started up the hill coming into my drive way it slipped out of first gear almost like i was in a manual transmission truck and had faded the clutch and re-engaged it. it sucks. i'll probably last long enough to get the motor built and then a 4l80.
