I am going to be purchasing a used f-body torque converter and wanted to make sure that it fits trucks also. I will also be buying their transmission and to my knowledge all you have to change is the tailshaft to fit our trucks, is this true?

The F-body converter WILL NOT work on the truck 4L60E
I believe the input shaft and bellhousing is also different. For the amount of mods you have to do to make it work you're better off buying a used 4L80E. It's stronger than a built 60E anyway.

Like I said, I think the input shaft is diffeentr between the 2 trannies and that changes the way the TQ converter mounts up. It's the same reasons a C5 4L60E converter will not work in an F-body or Truck.
I asked FLP about this awhile back since I own all 3 and it would have been nice to be able to interchange parts. I have an FLP trans in my T/A that I wanted to swap over to my truck but he said it really ins't worth the cost.

I really have no experience with putting a converter in these trucks, but I know that the TCI SF3000 converter fits both F-cars and trucks.
I would think that the tranny bolt pattern is the same too. If the LS1 bolts to our 4L60E's, then shouldn't thier (F-body) 4L60E bolt to our engine?
