I tried to get to the top speed in my Tahoe one time, but once I hit 88 mph, I ended up back in 1982 . Damn flux capacitor! (97 mph, actually)

New top speed thanks to wait4me's custom tune. My tahoe will now do more than 120, that's just where the needle stops . I didn't stay in it that much longer after the needle stopped to get rpms; mainly because it was 2am and the road had some bends. Going 120 in a car is entertaining, but going that fast in a fullsize suv will definitely leave finger indentions on the steering wheel . I was amazed at this speed, considering the mods in my sig, props to GM!

In my OBS with a 383, 3.73s, and such I had it just past 155, and that was on the Autometer speedo in the dash. It felt like it was getting pretty light. A friend of mine in the passenger seat about ripped the door grip off. He had a serious "white knuckle" hold on the damn thing. After that I never took it up passed 140.

It was insane, but fun. As for my '01 I have only gotten it just above 100 because there is too much traffic around here.

This is kind of messed up but I get on about a 4-5 mile stretch of interstate on the way to and from work and I regularly drive 100+ and maybe hit 120 2 or 3 times a week! Ever since i put the LS1 in I feel obligated! It like it! Ive done 130-135 a few times and it felt really weird but those times were for good reasons(racing a firehawk-yeah I know and teaching a Hemi a lesson). I dont plan on going that fast ever it just happens. I need to chill in the morning going 90+ in a 60mph in light-med traffic!

when does the truck start to lift off the ground? like 160 170? Does anyone know what ratings the stock wilderness tires are rated at on a 99-02?

My speedo only goes to 120 so I have no idea how fast Ive gone. It hit 120 and the rpms kept going up so I stayed on it got up past 5300 in 4th truck started floating wasnt fun at that point.

Im pritty sure those wilderness tires arent meant to be going 120 or over,
anyone notice them when they go to the dyno you start gettin some serious mis-shaping over 100, tire starts expanding bulges etc...

I done 128 mph on my Tahoe. My Tahoe loves 3rd gear its just keeps pulling and pulling that when it shuts down it makes a big nose dive damn hypertech.

I have done over 150 mph on a 02 Lightning. Don't know how fast I got it up to becuase the its only shows up to 145 but I let pegged their for quite a good destance and it was still going up in rpms.
