Default titanium retainers???

Allright guys, have a question about titanium retainers. I just got a TR 220, 220/220 551/551 on 112, and a set of Comp 918 springs, In a 5.3, do I need to step up to Ti retainers, Or are the stock ones fine, truck is mostly driven for fun, some street racing and the occaisonal trip down the strip. I probably will not set the shift points any higher than 6200, but who knows. is it really worth the money to buy the titanium? Opinions and suggestions are welcome. The install probably wont happen until spring so there is no real rush, I can wait until some pop up for sale either here or over at tech, just needing some advice from the experts. Thanks.

For what you're doing with the beehive 918's? No... Ti retainers are not necessary, IMO

You don't have to have them. But if you want them you can get them and they will help you rev a little faster.Certainly not a must though.

Titanium retainers will be like a TV set on a honeymoon............not necessary
Seriously though, you won't see any performance advantage with your setup. Save the money for better pushrods or something similar.

Good luck,

Richard
