Default titanium retainers?

i think ive decided on the thunder racing 224/224 cam with 114lsa. ill be getting some 918 springs and hardened pushrods. my question is, do i need titanium retainers? how many people are running a similar cam without them.
by the way...if anyone has any of these parts for sale, i'll take em.

a ton of people don't use retainers. If I remember right they look almost identical to stock ones. You won't need them with that cam

They are mostly for guys that spend alot of time at high rpm. They lighten up the valvetrain a bit and lower the inertia. Not sure at what point anyone needs them, but probably not anything that you need on a DD.
