I have the BFG Sport Truck T/A's (285/60/r16)
Gonna miss these tires, they did their job well, very well. No flats, nothing. Not to mention they've been on two seperate trucks. Good on the street/track too. Anyway, times to get some new ones, and i've found out they're discontinued . I've heard BFG has a new similar tire....Anyway.....
Just wondering before I go out, if you guys recommend any special tires, or something similar to the T/A's... Perhaps even a little wider tire maybe....

i would get the toyo proxy's 275/60/16. these tires have good traction and awesome looks. the last set i had was the bfg 275/65/16 and they didn't hook up at all. the toyo's are a little more expensive but i think they are much bettter. i haven't had any traction problems since i got them. just my two cents.

I've heard bad things about the proxes, a friend of mine had them on a set of 16's and could not get any traction off the line. My other friend had them on a set of 20's and still he couldn't hook up off the line either.
Look into some Nittos,Kumhos, or some Bridgestones. I have some Bridgestone Dueler H/P's (awesome tire, 285/50R18) or the Bridgestone Potenzas. Nitto makes the NT404's which i have heard good things about also. My bro-in-law has the nitto 450's and he loves them.
Just my opinion and some hear say.

thanks for some of the help.......
I can't help but keep lookin at the BFG Radial T/As....
May be a stretch but it looks like BFG "replaced" the old T/As 285/60s with the 295/50s.......a bit wider and shorter which is what im lookin for.......just not H rated.
Red2k, how long have you had them?

I second PhatChevy's opinion on the Toyos. I have the 275/60/16s on my '00 Silverado. I have a Whipple at 10 PSI and the Toyos do an absolutely amazing job. I have had 4 Trans Ams (86,95,95, and a 99) with Yokohamas, BFGS, and Goodyears. The Proxes are the best dry AND wet traction tire I have ever had. Treadwear rated at 420,Temp=A,Traction=A, and they were only $129.99 each. One great feature is that they have built-in rimguards that keep me from ever aving to worry about curb rash on my chrome rims.Take a look at them...thy are also damn sweet looking.

are you guys running those tires on stock 7" rims, the toyo sites calls for 8.5-11" rim.
i really like the looks of those tires and have heard more than one person rave about them but i am a little worried about puting them on a 7" rim.

looks like the BFG 295/50/16s wont even fit on the stock rim........
the 285s are discontinued.....only other tire I see is the BFG 265....surely BFG replaced the Radial T/A 285 with something......not seein it on the site atleast.....

I THINK Red2k put 295s on stock size wheels but I am not positive! It seems like he was saying they are so wide that he has to air them up ever so often because they leak. Something like that but don't believe me until he says for sure.
