Default Tired of old school ready for a change!

Well fella's im going to be picking up a new powerplant soon and swapping in my 78' think im gonna go with a 5.3 or a 6.0 as far as the swap itself i think i got that covered but im curious on what kinda mods to the engine you guys think i could do.....as far as cam and heads....what kinda power do you think i could make? This truck is not my primary transportation but i want to be able to drive it anywhere.Im just going to start planning things and im looking for you guys recommendation on cams and even heads.

Thanks

IMO to maintain good driveability, i would stay in the 220-224 duration range on the cam for a 5.3 and match it with a 3000-3200 converter. someone else is gonna have to chime in for the heads.

yeah, ask Richard at WCCH about the heads. It would be very cool to have a nice strong cam, good stall and about a 150 shot of nitrous. On a healthy 5.3 that should put you into the low 12's or so, maybe.

Yep pretty much, I am happy with it, just working on the tune now and waiting for some new tires.. Hopefully try and go to the track soon to try out the new gears! Next time we meet up at the track I will show you some stuff on EFI Live if you want.
