Default Tire pressure for the track?

I may be going to the track this Wednesday night if it doesn't rain and I've never adjusted my tire pressure the previous times I've gone. I'm running normal street radials (255/70R16's) and normally keep them at about 30 lbs (max for tire is 35). I've heard that lowering the pressure in radials actually hurts, it decreases the contact patch of the tire. Is there a good pressure or should I just leave them alone?

I drop mine to about 20 to 25. The harder the tire is, the easier it will be to spin. I definatly notice the differance when I drop pressure.
