Default Tip for people doing cam installs

When I was almost finish with my cam install, I did the following to avoid all the noise the valvetrain makes from being dry of oil. I left all of the spark plugs out, left the main connector for the coil packs disconnected and removed the fuel pump relay, I then turned over the motor with the starter for about ten seconds until I saw good oil pressure. After that I put in the plugs and reconnected everything and it started right up with no valvetrain noise. I thought I would mention this b/c it worked good for me.

I believe you can also put your gas pedal to the floor and crank it without it providing any fuel. It is a mode the pcm goes into for starting a flooded engine.

Yeah...but if you didn't have that sucker on the floor it would REALLY suck, an instant 5000rpm's WITHOUT any oil on the cam or lifters...stuff would go in a serious hurry
