Default Timing Chain & Oil Pump ??

I bought my cam, TR 224/227, a while back, and before I get it put in I want to buy a new timing chain and oil pump too. I've heard the LS2 timing chain is a good one for the price, but where can I get it? Also, I was wondering if just a new stock oil pump is sufficent, or should i get a ported ls6 oil pump?

Last question, besides the new cam, springs, pushrods, the rest of the internals are stock. What max RPM should I tell Bryan when I get my new tune? (Stock retainers, rockers, lifters, pistons, etc.)

Thanks

Chad

Scoggin Dickey for both parts. Not sure if they have an LS6 oil pump in stock or not. But they have the cahins ready to ship. If your truck has high mileage on it you might as well replace the pump and o-ring.

None of the others will matter much on RPM range!! As long as you have new springs, PUSHRODS, oh and rod bolts are a must if you plan on spinning past 6200RPM

I dont think you can, but I could be wrong about that. But in a nut shell yes pull the pan, drop the strainer thats bolted to the motor, take off the main caps ( heres where the biggest problem will occur if the motor is still inside the engine bay, these are 6 bolt mains, 4 along the middle of the caps and two on the outside of the block for each cap), Then you will expose the crank and rods, now you can try to do the rod bolts while its still got the caps on but again I'm not sure if it will work since i've never done it in the truck!!

well, i'm not going to do the cam. i'll ask the guy that is going to do it if he would do this too. if not, i'll just have the rev limiter set at 6200rpm.

thanks for the info though
