Default time chain?

What would be a good timing chain for my friends motor? He has a 6.2 liter motor and its a boost motor with a procharger and he keeps jumping time on the truck. The only thing was that he didnt tell me he had the stock timing chain on the motor and i was woundering on whats a good double roller timing chain?

I've NEVER heard of a Gen III/VI motor jumping time... That's an old SBC chevy thing when they made the gear out of plastic to make them quite.

There is a timing chain tensioner available. I believe it is stock on the LS2s. You can install it by drilling and tapping a couple of holes for the bolts that hold the tensioner in place

Just wondering...does he have proof of this or does he just think that's what happening?

You said it "keeps" jumping timing, as if it gets corrected and then repeats the problem.

With all the trouble he has had it wouldn't be a bad idea to pull the motor and have it checked. If 3 people haven't been able to fix it then it's probably not the timing chain. Good luck

wow, never seen that b4. I find it hard to believe that it keeps jumping time and not destroying the engine. How many pounds of boost?
