Default ticking sound

im new here and i was told by a friend of mine to post here mabe u all may know a what my prob is , i have a 2001 scsb chevy silvy 6.0 fbo h/c and it barley started making this tiking noise do u all know what it can be

yeah it sounds like a lifter what oil are you using? did or do you have long tube headers?

Forgot to post haven't installed the headers yet but some ppl tell me its the lifters and some say it sounds worse than just some bad lifters

how is the ticking at WOT? can you smell fumes in the engine bay? how does the oil look? can you only hear it to one side of the motor? have you bottomed out lately ?

I had the same problem but realized it was a leak from the flange from when I bottomed out in a rut while off roadin.

I heard it in person it doesnt sound anything like a lifter, If u rev it a lil bit the knock goes away.

sounds like valve trane noise not a lifter though. maybe an exhaust leak? or a loose rocker arm?
