He started the same thread over at tech and with about the same replies. It was pointed out (which I missed looking at the sheet) the dyno is a Mustang and we don't know if the converter was locked. On a DynoJet with the converter locked he'd be close to the advertised gains. Add long tubes and a decent muffler it may exceed advertised.

Was this thing previously modified?

Looking at the graph, you have a 4.8 that's not spinning up much at all and making 278 at the wheels

I have a 5.3 with a complete exhaust that was spun up (albeit with a smaller cam) and it makes 302

So you're telling me that you're unhappy when you have a smaller motor with more restriction making a mere 24hp less?

The more I think on this and look at what you've provided; I don't think there is anything missing here. Some tune clean up needs to happen for sure, but as far as hard parts go, I think she is making what she can make until you open her up some more and give her more RPM to work with. I am also wondering if the "small gains" were because this thing had a cam in it in the first place

212/218 on a 111 is quite a bit smaller than 218/228 on a 108 both in terms of duration and overlap. I suggested 212/218 because time and time again they have proven to work extremely well in smaller cube engines with factory intake and manifolds.

My mistake, I misread the specs. I thought they both were 218° and 228° duration.
Sometimes I can read 1000 words per minute, but with no comprehension.

They are great cams in heavy trucks. Don't need a ton of RPM to really come alive. I like the tighter LSAs because it helps bring the torque curve on even earlier and sounds thumpy.

Cats or no? And have you tried messing with EOIT? I've heard that can help.

No kitties. Overlap is great, I'd rather have the torque than smell clean. I can't smell it in the truck anyway

I have not messed with EOIT, I have mentioned it to my tuner and he has told me several times to "just bring it by" and well... no excuses, I haven't taken it by lmao. It works so well, its hard to justify changing it up
