Throttle bypass kit and timing advance
#1
I saw on Ebay that a guy was selling a TB bypass kit and i've heard you guys talk about them before, so i ordered one...but this guy is also selling a kit that advances the timing. he says its good for at least 5hp with no damage to the engine even though it is leaning it out.
have yall heard of this kit or used it before? what is your input?
it was only 12 bux or so and if yall say it works then ill get it.

the timing advance is just a resistor that you can buy at radio shack for a couple of cents i think. the throttle body bypass can be bought at the following link:
i think if you look at the corvette place in houston it's cheaper. hope this helps.

i don't really know anything about the timing advance thing but the throttle body bypass kit is worth getting. if you end up getting the hypertech programmer, it has an option for fuel octane level. i believe that changes your computers timing. someone else here probably has more answeres. i don't know if the throttle body bypass is used or not but you can buy the bypass kit for $14.95 at http://www.bmrfabrication.com/
and they give free shipping. just look around it's under miscellaneous.

all it takes for the throttle body bypass is a 1/4" brass barbed coupler and two screw type hose clamps, i think i paid about 5 bucks total from autozone, or you could pay 20bucks + shipping
dont know anything about the thing to raise your timing though, is it just a timing tricker or something like slp sales?

Let me make this simple, you see the pieces in those pictures. They are about $3.00 at Autozone.
Don't get hosed by buying one of these kits. Here is what you need:
1. 1 - male/male 1/4" fuel line coupling
2. 2 - 1/4" hose clamps (don't reuse factory clamps)
3. 2 - 1/4" vacuum line caps (sold in a box of 6 or 8)
If You want detailed instructions of how to put this on, Email me.

Fast 4.8 is exactly right on the parts, don't buy an over priced kit.

several weeks back in the lounge there were several pages of posts on the guy selling those, he even gave dyno graphs of the hp increase. the graphs were off of mms' site on a 422! anyways you could get it yourself and save some $$ in the process.
i've also read that it doesnt improve much, but for a few bucks i guess any little bit helps!
