It is just the posi unit and sells for around 400 to 500 dollars. If you have a stock locking diff, it is almost as good IMO. The stockers are made by Eaton and can be repaired if broken in some cases. The Auburn is a better unit IMO but cannot be repaired. If it breaks, you have to buy a whole new one. At least that is the last I heard. I know they were making repair kits for some models. Everyone including myself that has an Auburn loves them. I haven't heard any negatives, or I might add I don't know of anyone that has changed from the stock unit just for the Auburn. Let's see if this will get some other opinions.

Auburns are pretty strong, they save the gears most of the time too when they break <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

i have the eaton setup with a 4:10 gear
i have had no problems so far.

the eaton was recommended by a performance differential shop in baytown called Pyle Bros
who have been around since the 70's so i trust their opinion.

If i buy an Eaton and decide to replace my 3.42's with 3.73's, will I need a different carrier?
