Throttle Body Bypass???
#1
Has anyone tried to do the throttle body bypass for the coolant. Im just wondering if anyone had any problems with it or if anyone noticed any gains with it.

I did it, takes about 5 minutes to do. Parts are around $3, so don't buy the kit that some company's are selling for $12. Didn't notice any gains, but then again it is only $3 to do. No problems here, but I have hear that if you are in extreme cold temperatures, do not do this mod.

I didn't really notice a difference. But it's probably a horse or two. One thing though, if you take it in for warranty work, yank it off there first. The dealer kinda <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> on them and will threaten you about blocking the warranty.

Well I live in Florida so I dont think the extreme cold temps are going to be a problem. And as far as the warranty thing is concerned, I have 50,000 miles so no need to worry there. I bought the stuff to do it today at home depot and it was $1.27 so cant go wrong there....every little bit helps right?

If you are under boost anything you can do to cool the air intake temp will help. otherwise you wont notice it. Ive done it on several feul injected cars and have never had any problems and for "free" what will it hurt.
In cold areas that is to reduce the risk of the TB iceing over.

Look at this old thread. I put some pictures up in it.

If your quick and the motor is cool, you won't loose much coolant at all, maybe a 1/4 cup.
