yes you can have your tranny built as the 65e with all the bells nd whistles. i say a cam tune and a converter as well. cams are easy. converters arent to bad. that trailblazer converter seems to work well. and a tune will bring it all around.

If I had that money to spend and knew that I eventually wanted to run 13's, I would go with a Transgo shift kit, tuning, and a NX or equivalent quality wet nitrous system. It will still have full driveability, just an extra 100+++ horses when you are ready to head to the track. Without a huge cam and a strong tune, its going to be hard to run deep into the 13's. With the nitrous you still have your efficient daily driver. This is basically my current plan if I ever get the chance to try it. Also I believe Tbyrne has nitrous and shift kits. You will need a good trans cooler if you don't have one; I'm not sure how good the stock coolers are, but a gauge to monitor the temps is helpful.

Nope haven't spent it. I think I'm going to use it to buy a Goodmark cowl hood. Then break into the performance side a little more.

Can I really run 13's in an x-cab truck?

the hood alone is going to eat up almost all of your spending cash. by the time you buy it, pay for shipping, and have it painted you'll have close to a grand into it easily. i'd say just get a custom tuned pcm with what you have left.
