Had a buddy of mine tellin me i should run a stock gm stall in my 4l80 rather then the 3600 i am planning on. Says i can't dd the 3600 on the highway an i will run faster ets with the stock stall. An also keep in mind i will b camming the 6.0 down the road . Thanks in advance.

Witgh a good cam 230 or so a 3600 would be perfect. As far as driving down the highway.....once the converter locks up its JUST LIKE STOCK. You will notice highe rpms stop light to stop light.

The main thing with a 3600 stall is having the right gearing for it. If you have 3.42's with a 28in tires its going to seem to slip alot from take off. Now if you had 4.10's it will make the converter more streetable.

BTW whats the setup? weight? gear? tire? 1/4 goals?

i agree. right now im dd a 3200 with 3.23s/30in tires. feels like slips bad from takeoff. planning on some 3.90's after the cam swap. stick to your guns and get the stall. just throw some 4.10s in later and you will barely notice the stall from takeoff but it will still pull like a **** when u get on it

What type of daily driving are you going to do? It's going to get the same mileage going down the highway when the lockup clutch is engaged.

More RPMs with the gears doesn't always mean worse mileage. I lay down 17 MPG with 4.56s and big 35s.
