You could always go with carbon fiber. If they fail they turn to dust instead of sending shrapnel up your ***, and they are way lighter. However, carbon fiber shafts = $$$$$

I think carbon fiber is a bit overkill, but I would invest in a driveshaft safety loop. I couple of years ago I was working on a friend of mine's Pro Stock Truck, and we broke our brand new Jerico trans. We borrowed a Liberty, but the driveshaft length wasn't the same. I just called a local driveshaft company in Houston (this was at Houston Raceway Park) and had one made for around $75! It worked fine for what we needed it to do.

What happened to your weak dyno's? I didnt think you had enough power to break anything. Did you get any numbers?

What's the diameter of that shaft? Is it the 4" 3/4-ton piece? If so, I need to get me a new shaft.

Nah...both of 'em are in the shed at the house. Is there a smaller aluminum shaft?

I blew mine ....

I went with the Nitro 1350 from a company that used to be call Thrash out of San Antonio...it cost me including transfer yoke about $300 altogether. Great people over there...real nice owner. Had my new shaft built in 1 day and shipped to me (East Coast) in 3 days. They go under the name driveshaft specialist inc now. It may be heavier than the stock or not as strong as carbon fiber (900 to 1500 bucks) but it'll do...got a drive shaft loop now. So I'll put a bigger rear end if that goes next and like 02denali I'll do the 4L80 swap when the trans completely goes as well.

Good luck!
