Default thinking of this cam!

I'm thinking of installing this cam on my LQ4 : Comp custom grind, 216 / 218 .561 / .563 114 +2, Hoping it will make some good midrange power over the cam thats in now! Will milling heads .045 work good with this one?

Thats basically the same one as your current one. Why not retard the cam you have now and have the same cam?

I agree. That cam swap wouldn't even be worth your time.
Depending on what you want out of it, I'd go bigger. Also consider a stall converter.
How will you be using the vehicle?

Milling your heads should make a nice difference. I just wouldnt bother with a cam swap when you could get an adjustable t-chain and get the same results.

old cam specs are 218 / 218 .552 / .530 114 +4, Thought 216 / 218 .561 / .563 114 +2 would help alitle more in the mid range, plus nelson could retune as he sells me parts. Plus the .530 bugged me on the exhaust and moving advance back 2* would help midrange, what does the group think?

I think Nelson is trying to sell you a cam. Thats not enough difference to warrant a change. Retard the cam 3*s with an adjustable t-chain and a have the same results.

I think it would be a waste of money to get that new cam over the one you have now.

A higher CR will net gains across the board with the most gains being evident in upper rpms(typically from what I have seen on dyno charts). I would throw a different chain on there before changing cams.
