Running the 5.3 heads would hike that CR up there too .... Me on the other hand .... I want to LOWER my compression. Maybe we can work something out f you end up getting it.

Wouldn't the 5.3 heads (Say stage 1 1/2 -2, bigger valves, & valve job) raise the compression a little too high on the 6.0L? Wouldn't be better to run the 6.0L heads and work done on them?

But, remember that post about the 500rwhp FMS 6.0 w/ a procharger? Didn't it have 5.3 heads? Weird...

I don't know the specifics, but I think as long as you don't mill the 5.3 heads, you would be OK compression ratio wise. I would wait and let someone else chime in on it before you write that in stone though.

With a blown application, lower compression is better.

Yeah, I know it's better to run a lower compression on blown stuff. I just thought I heard something about it not being good to run 5.3 heads on the 6.0L. It was something to do with how well the 6.0 heads flowed compared to the 5.3 heads...

From what i read in GMHTP awhile back, the LQ4/LQ9 heads are similar in respects to the LS6 heads in flow specs. But almost all the Gen III heads in stock form, or mild ported (im basing this on saying MTI ported 5.3 and MTI ported 6.0 heads, not like AFR 6.0s ported and LPEs 5.3 ported here) flow good #s to support just about any type of application.

And as long as you didnt deck the 5.3 heads, i dont see why they would be bad on a 6.0. A few guys run them on LS1s, and they're making good power #s.

If you are getting them ported with bigger valves anyways, then you woulnd't have anything to worry about. Which ever heads you have ported would more than likely flow better.
