Think my walbro is going out...

Well when i first installed my fuel pump a while back it would read 60 psi at idle... now its reading 58 and dropping to 50 when im accellerating. Today it was 50 when i was just cruising... then when i parked and restarted truck it was idling at 58 again... Sound like a pump failure? Also can anyone point me in the right direction to buy a drop in for a 2006 silverado i forgot where i got it at...

I just replace my 255 lph pump last week. Two weeks ago at the race track my fuel pressure would drop from 65psi to 50psi on a wide open throttle pass at upper rpm's. Checked regulator and injectors, no problem. Replace fuel pump and problem resolved.

How long or how many miles (more relevant) has your pump been in service? I have notice a 2psi drop in the last year at idle but I have made so many other changes I am not sure the pump i an issue.

I installed mine in Sept 2007. I run about every weekend at the race tracks (bracket and dot racing) so I do run mine pretty hard. Mine would drop 15 psi at wide open throttle around 6000 rpm's and up to my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts at 6900 rpm's. I caught it on my second time trial and with my HP Tuners scan.

I posted it in FI...but on second thought, it actually applies to all...

Mines only been in service maybe 15k miles... I forgot which sites i read it on but a couple i saw when looking for replacement said one of the top reasons the walbro has short span is because of the way a returnless fuel system is setup.... why can we just have external pumps and filters lol...
