Default Think I have decided on the cam for the 408 opinions?

Well I spent some time researching cams and all that for the 5.3L then a week later I blew it so now to plan B.

Well plan B is a forged 408 with a two stage nitrous kit. Im going to go with an MS3 its a 237/242 .603 .609 113lsa. SHould have a good lope and make some big hp and react decently well to the nitrous. Let me know what you guys think about this choice.

i'd say go with a lil bit less cam unless it's just for the strip...

this looks like a good cam for both street and strip. should give you lots of bottom end with your 3400 stall on the street and should be able to let you rev that motor at the track also...

That cam sounds mean I guess you'll require some Comp 921's or some dual springs that one huh?

Not neccessarily. Some people run 918s with this cam. But they also have lightened valvetrain (titatanium retainers). 918s will work shimmed. But 921s would be my choice. Duals are not necessary for this cam.

Titanium retainers and 921s is what I will be going with. I think the tha cam I have chosen should give me some good top end and just due to the CI of the engine it should be fine. Me and BigBlockChevy discussed this last night. If f-bodies can get away with it and drive it everyday then the extra 62 cubic inches I have over tehm shoul dmake it driveable in a vehicle that is 2000 pounds heavier. I drove my heavy *** truck around with a 222/224 112lsa 5.3 for a week and it didnt do too bad IMO and the cam Im talking about along with the 408 is a milder or equal combo but the 408 is going to make a **** load more torque and make it much more driveable. We will see if I dont like it Ill pull it out and put something smaller in it. Cam swaps arent that big of a deal damn springs are the biggest PITA and I wont have to do that.
