Default Think about buying a 2000 SCSB Silverado

Is there anything to look out for? The truck I have in mind is a 5.3 automatic 4x4. I think (I only glanced at it) the 4wd selector is manual.

Any info appreciated.

I have the exact one in indigo blue. I love it. WIth any vehicle there can be probs. Check wheel bearings on a lift, tie rods, pitman/idler arm and yes the damn lic plate light There cheap so no worries. Oh and check the brakes out, our trucks, stock rotors wear really wierd, so only a little can be contacting the pad if it is original. Kueka71 or z71 posted pics of his rotors awhile back. The pad was only contacting about 3/4-1 inch of the rotor. Anyway, good luck. Have fun modding, because its addictive.

I pretty much decided Im going to start on the same thing. I need to find a lean body with no accidents. Im then going to drop in a forged 6.0 and a blower with a small shot!! Those trucks just look so clean with a 2/4, some 18's or 20's and a rollpan. Good luck with it!!
As far as looking out for anything, Id have the tranny looked at and stay away from the 99's as Ive heard they have knock prob's. LS1's are pretty stout so you should be alright in that dept.

I'm not really worried about the engine, I have the 28k mile LS1 out of my 99 Vette that I want to drop in.
If the 5.3 is a good runner, 52k miles, what is it worth?

Could be way off, but I think they were going for like $500-$800. Laws of supply and demand arent in your favor on that one.

very important is to see what gear it has and if it has a locking differential. check it over well for options, if it doesn't have what you want, keep looking.
