Default Are these mods worth doing?

For those who've used them, have the elec fans given noticeable improvment in hp gains, will they cool the truck sufficiently in summer heat and when towing?

I've ordered some hotchkiss sway bars front and rear for my 01 C3 for the limited amount of road racing I do, and wondered if those that have used them have found them to help with handling and body roll?

Thanks for the replies!

The electric fans are nice ... it gives the truck a nice touch if you ask me. You can definantly notice a drag with the stock fan locked up. I have more overheating problems with my underdrive pulley than I do the fans. On the black truck, the fans kept things cool without a problem, haven't had the new one in the dead heat of summer pulling the boat to the lake yet.

The sway bars are awsome! Don't be lazy and only do 1 though, do them both. You will get an oversteer feel if you only do the front one. It will go into a curve and then the rear will feel like it wants to kick out. With both of them installed, the truck handles nicely. It doesn't really wanna kick out, it just hugs and goes. Makes me wish these things came with better bolstered seats.

i also agree with flyer i was just going to say rod bolt cause you are NOT running some crazy amount of HP. but it is what ever your wallet can handle. def. go with ported heads while you have it apart. also ditch the whipple stuff as far as tunning and get bigger injectors and ls1 edit. also you REALY need to contact ryan23silverado on this board. he can help you lost with the whipple and maybe hook you up with an intercooler.

just my .02$ sounds like you are not looking for a beast just something fun!!!

Well, some people might consider a 5300lb truck running 13.4 a beast now, but if I could drop a few tenths, pickup more reliability, without messing up the mpg too bad (it will get 20+ now) and add a little more handling with the sway bars, I would be a happy camper. The intercooler thing would probably dictate just how much more boost I could run. I run about 7lbs currently, and with some lower compression pistons maybe 8.5. With an intercooler, possibly 10psi?

Not going back into this engine after this build is probably the most important factor! Thx.

Stepping up to the RADIX would be a good idea I think. It's a very complete kit, comes with new injectors, and a new tune. Of course, I'm sure there is more to be had with a new tune. I think 10-12 psi would not be out of the question for that, maybe even more.

I think whitt runs about 10 on pump gas at the track. When he's at the track he runs ice in his intercooler though.
